Loophole tower number 9 to be exact. It's sometimes incorrectly called a martello tower, but actually it's one of 15 that were build to defend against a possible French invasion in the late 18th century. My painting was done from a photo I took while standing on the sandy path looking back towards L'Ancresse Golf Club and the self catering apartments. The painting is one of a series that have a very active sky. The sandy path is indeed sand, as I mixed sand into the paint. I'll post a picture soon with purchase details.
